Ronnie Mulyanyuma, the Town Clerk of Nakaloke Town Council in Mbale City was on Saturday arrested on orders of Local Government minister Raphael Magyezi, for allegedly selling government land.
Mulyanyuma is said to have sold three plots of government land to a businessman named Isma Mukakadi.

During the meeting, Town Clerk Mulyanyuma, who sold the land to Mukakadi was suspended from all his roles both as Town Clerk and Physical Planner, before he was handed to police immediately.
The minister also ordered for the ongoing development of the sold land in Nakaloke to be halted and for Mukakadi to remove all his construction materials from the site in one week or government would take it.
Magyezi also directed Mbale district Land Board to be suspended with immediate effect and their work to be further investigated.
Meanwhile, Minister Ogwang ordered for changes to be made in the local leadership, starting with the transfer of one Abaho, the OC of Nakaloke Police Station.
The officer, Ogwang said, will be subjected to investigation over his involvement in the sale of the government land in Nakaloke town council.
