Sunday October 10th | World Cup Qualifier
Uganda Cranes V Rwanda Amavubi Stars (4:00pm)
After a fantastic week of international football, the cranes play host to the Wasps of Rwanda in Kitende on Sunday afternoon.
Uganda cranes will need a repeat of the Thursday evening result in Kigali (1-0) that saw Uganda close the gap on Mali in group E thanks to a Fahad Bayo strike.
Micho Sredojivic’s charges ought to feel confident about getting another one over their neighbors and move a step closer towards qualifying for the 2022 world cup in Qatar.
The current group E standings see Mali lead the pack (7 points), closely followed by Uganda (5) as Kenya (2) and Rwanda (1) occupy third and fourth respectively.
The televised match has seen Airtel, the official sponsor of the Cranes, come out to reiterate their continued support to the lads in their bid to qualify for the much revered global event.
“With the result of the away game in Rwanda, and the home game on Sunday, there is no doubt the efforts need to doubled ahead of the November games (against Mali and Kenya).”
Giving back to the fans who will not be in the stands at St. Mary’s as one of the effects brought by the Covid19 pandemic, Airtel Uganda has introduced a special “cranes offer” to allow all subscribers share highlights and talk about the game.
The stage is set in Kitende at the St. Mary’s stadium for what promises to be another exciting matchup on the road to Qatar.
