Security forces have launched a search operation near Jammu’s Jagti refugee camp after suspicious movement was seen in the area on Monday. The Jagti refugee camp in Jammu is home to many displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
According to initial information, two suspicious men were seen moving around the Jagti refugee camp. Locals, upon spotting the individuals, immediately alerted the police, which prompted a massive search operation.
This development comes amid a spate of terror attacks against non-Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir.
Over the past week, as many as six civilians have lost their lives in targeted killings. Among the victims were a woman principal and a teacher, a street vendor from Bihar and a prominent pharmacy owner.
The J&K Police, along with security forces, detained 570 people across the union territory on Sunday in a broad crackdown.
