President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the First lady, Janet Museveni, have praised the national football team, the Uganda Cranes, over their unchallengeable performance exhibited in securing the nation’s second consecutive win against Rwanda.
Fahad Bayo again scored Uganda’s only one goal which gave the Cranes a stunning victory over the Amavubi Stars at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Sunday
Bayo had also scored the only goal that gave Cranes the victory in Kigali Rwanda on Thursday last week.
“I congratulate the national football team on this victory,” Museveni posted on his official Twitter handle.
Museveni said that the Amazing Cranes, “used the right tactics and our goal came from a corner kick,”
“I know these tactics because I used to be a footballer until (1966) when I changed focus from sports to the struggles of our politics,” he added.
Janet Museveni, the First Lady and the Minister of Education and Sports praised God for this continuous victory.
Glory to God for another @UgandaCranes victory,” she said adding, “World Cup qualification is becoming more and more tangible.”
Cranes is now the second in Group E with 8 points only after Mali which leads the Group with 10 points. Kenya is third with 2 points as Rwanda trails behind with 1 point.
Uganda will play Kenya on November 11 and Mali on November 14.
