The BJP worker, who tipped the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) about the drug party on the Mumbai cruise, has been summoned by Mumbai Police.

Manish Bhanusali, a BJP worker who informed the NCB about the drugs party and was a key witness during the raids in which Aryan Khan and others were arrested, has been called for questioning.

This is the first summons issued by the Mumbai Police based on the complaint by witness Prabhakar Sail, who alleged that NCB officers had asked for Rs 25 crore payoff to release Aryan Khan.

A 4-member team of Mumbai Police is now investigating the allegations of bribery against Sameer Wankhede. The NCB has also launched a vigilance probe against Wankhede over the bribery charges.

Police are conducting an inquiry into four complaints filed by independent witness Prabhakar Sail, lawyers Sudha Dwivedi and Kanishka Jain, and Nitin Deshmukh. All the complaints have been clubbed together. On Tuesday and Wednesday, police recorded Prabhakar Sail’s statement as well.

On October 3, Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan (23) was arrested along with others from the Mumbai cruise ship during the drugs bust. Aryan Khan has since remained in custody while the Bombay High Court is hearing his bail application this week.

The court will resume hearing the bail plea on Thursday.
