On Monday, A Mumbai court had directed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is investigating the Mumbai drugs case, to file its reply on Aryan Khan’s bail plea by Wednesday (today). While the NCB was directed to file its reply by 11 am on Wednesday, the hearing on Aryan Khan’s bail plea was scheduled to take place at 2.45 pm on the same day, Satish Maneshinde, Aryan Khan’s lawyer, had said.
According to sources, the NCB is likely to oppose the bail application of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in connection with the Mumbai cruise ship drug bust case. The probe agency has also come across some new revelations during the investigation, sources told India Today TV. The interrogation of some of the accused will be put before the court by the NCB, they said.
As many as 20 people have been arrested in the case so far. Aryan Khan and others were charged with offences under Section 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29 and 35 of the NDPS Act. On October 7, Aryan was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days after which he immediately moved court seeking bail. While the NCB sources claimed that Aryan Khan was consuming drugs for four years, Aryan Khan’s lawyer has maintained that no quantity of drugs is found on him.
Aryan Khan’s bail plea was rejected by the magistrate court on October 8. The court said the application was not maintainable as only a special court of sessions is entitled to hear the bail plea. His legal team filed a fresh plea on Friday under the NDPS Act seeking bail in the Mumbai cruise drugs case.
