Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Thursday in connection with the Mumbai cruise drugs seizure case. Along with Aryan Khan, the high court also granted bail to Arbaaz Merchantt and Munmun Dhamecha in the case. The court will give its detailed order on Friday. “I could have given the order also tomorrow. But I gave it today,” Justice Sambre said on Thursday.
Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 3, a day after a raid was conducted on a rave party on board Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship in Mumbai. The raid was conducted on October 2. Since then, Aryan had been in NCB custody. On October 8, he was sent to Arthur Road jail in Mumbai. After 20 days in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail, and 5 days in NCB and judicial custody, Aryan Khan was granted bail.
Aryan Khan was charged under four sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act – Section 8(c), Section 20(b), Section 27, Section 35. Besides Aryan Khan, the NCB arrested his friend Arbaaz Merchantt and another accused, Munmun Dhamecha for their alleged involvement in the Mumbai cruise drugs case.
