A farmer was allegedly injured and another claimed that an attempt was made to run a car over him during a farmers’ protest at an event to felicitate BJP MLA Sandeep Singh in Haryana’s Naraingarh.
The farmers began their protest at the venue when they heard that BJP MP Nayab Saini from Kurukshetra and MLA Sandeep Singh were about to reach there. Heavy police presence was also seen at the event to avoid any untoward incident.
According to news reports, the car that allegedly tried to run over the farmer belonged to BJP MP Nayab Saini. The car allegedly drove into a group of people protesting against the centre’s farm laws.
The injured farmer, who is reportedly in a critical condition, has been been admitted to a government hospital in Naraingarh near Ambala. The protesters are demanding a police complaint against the vehicle’s owner.
