Uganda has to wait a little longer for the reopening of the entertainment industry.
During his address last week, President Museveni said that bars and musical concerts will resume operations only after 4.8 million Ugandans are vaccinated. He projected that this will be after the end of this year.
Luckily enough, Ugandans can access virtual concerts in the comfort of their homes, the latest offering being the ‘Tusker Malt Conversations,’ that kicks off this Sunday.
The online show will be a monthly online video series of live performances by Uganda’s biggest vocal artistes, delivering fine acoustic versions of their hit songs, interspersed with conversations about their private lives and career.
The first episode, according to the organisers, will feature sensational singer Winnie Nwagi whose vocal prowess is not in question. Nwagi often stirs controversy when she gets to speak her mind and the combination of her singing and interaction is the perfect recipe for an explosive opener.
Contacted for a comment ahead of the show, Nwagi told ChimpReports that she is delighted to be performing online since the arts and entertainment industry hasn’t been operational for quite long.
She added that she is indeed the perfect match to kick-start the show.
