Jinja – NUP flag bearer for Kwempe North Member of Parliament Muhammad Ssegirinya was on Thursday arrested and taken to Nalufenya Police.
Ssegirinya is one of the many members of the National Unity Platform and supporters who were outside Nalufenya Police Station waiting to hear from Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine who was arrested yesterday.
As the Fast Observer News reported on Wednesday, Kyandondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi was arrested at his presidential campaign venue in Luuka (East-Uganda) and detained at Nalufenya Police Station.
Ssegirinya is one of Bobi’s right hand men, he slept around Nalufenya police and wokeup to a press briefing along with the NUP spokes person Joel Ssenyonyi, Lewis Rubongoya , Lawyers among others.
Ssegirinya was surrounded by security officers not in Uniform armed with guns cocked at scene and forced him into a gray van later driven to Nalufenya Police.
The reason for his arrest is yet to be know, but also Bobi wine’s arrest is not yet known, as all the authorities have remained silent about the incident.
Protests still continue in the country demanding for release of the opposition leader.
