|Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) in Court
Kampala – Ugandan opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine is set to address his supporters on Facebook today at 7 pm.
The National Unity Platform president and presidential card bearer Sunday afternoon announced that he will be going live on his Facebook page to address supporters specifically those in areas where he didn’t manage to go.
Today marks the second day since Bobi Wine was released from Nalufenya detention centre and granted a bail in Iganga magistrates court following his arrest in Luuka district last week.
Bobi’s arrest raised protests around the country a scuffle which led to death of over 30 citizens shot by security operatives.
On saturday, The National Unity Platform organised prayers in memory of people who died during these protests and their families were invited in prayer.
“Due to the rude interruption recently, we were unable to speak to our people in 15 districts of Luuka, Buyende, Kamuli, Mpigi, Kalungu, Masaka, Lyantonde, Kiruhura , Mbarara, Isingiro, Ntungamo and Rukungiri.” Bobi posted on Facebook
Bobi was earlier blocked from accessing Sironko, Kitgum and Bugiri by police for unknown reasons.
“As we arrange to come to those districts physically, I will be speaking to the people of Uganda in general and those districts in particular today at 7:00 pm live here on Facebook and all our other social media.” He summarised.
Thankful for this opportunity to pray for our nation. Due to violent interruptions, we were unable to speak to our people in 15 districts.
As we plan to visit, I’ll be speaking to the people of Uganda (esp those in the districts mentioned) today at 7:00pm live on facebook. pic.twitter.com/vkPAoIJMeO
